Alexandra is a qualified Systemic Family Therapist (family psychotherapist) and has worked in mental health for 15 years. She has expertise in helping people in crisis and their support networks to make sense of unusual experiences, extreme reality states, trauma, and extreme emotional distress. This provides a unique outlook when to comes to developing and understanding peoples need for emotional resilience and increasing their emotional wellbeing.
Through her clinical knowledge of the secondary stresses that individuals experience of burnout, compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma, she has developed psychometric assessments alongside clients to measure the impact of distress. She supports people to use this information to explore and contain current responses to difficulties and safeguard against future problems.
Alexandra also works as a tutor and lecturer for The University of Leeds.
