As society changes and the opportunity to share responsibilities falls more equally across both parents, supporting working fathers is becoming increasingly important.
The day-to-day challenges of a demanding job, plus the arrival of a new baby and the added expectations of being a ‘modern father’, can often feel overwhelming. Typically, men have fewer outlets for constructive stress relief and they tend to ‘share’ less of what’s going on for them. It’s no wonder, then, that this time of transition has the potential to become overwhelming.
This 90-minute session presents an opportunity for working fathers to ask questions, share fears and address concerns in a relaxed, confidential and open manner, and to highlight any resources for flexible working that are available.
Through a series of discussions and exercises, delegates will build their understanding of how the role of ‘father’ can be combined with a successful and fulfilling career. Individuals will leave the session feeling informed, positive and suitably equipped to embrace this dual role.
